Favorite Beauty Products of the Month: May + Big Giveaway!
This month was a big one for beauty and I had the opportunity to try dozens of different products! Some left a lot to be desired while others made me feel the same way Nicholas Cage does when he discovers that the treasure is actually real in "National Treasure." So. Much. Yes.
Here are the four beauty products that made me feel like Beyonce in May:
1. bareMINERALS 16-Hour Full Coverage Concealer.
Ladies, I don't know about you but the bags under my eyes can be so real sometimes. There's no amount of Snapchat filters that can hide them after a long day on set or a crazy early morning of shoots, so a great full-coverage concealer is life to me. I don't know if I'll ever use another concealer after finding this crease-proof and waterproof one from bareMinerals. It's that good. It's also formulated without parabens, sulfates, and phthalates. My go-to shade is Tan Warm-09.
2. St. Tropez Gradual Tan 1 Minute Everyday Pre-Shower Tanning Mouse.
Holy guacamole. This St. Tropez products is straight up liquid gold (or foam gold in this case). It's super easy to use, streak-free, and pretty much goof-proof. All you have to do is apply the product to dry skin and shower it off after just 1 minute. I've been using it religiously a few times a week for the past month for a sunkissed glow that gradually builds the more you use it. I get asked all the time if I just got back from vacation and I always just smile and nod instead of admitting that the closest I've been to a beach recently is my palm tree desktop wallpaper. You can keep a secret though, right? (;
3. Sally Hansen's Insta-Dri Nail Polish in Buff AND Tumble.
Let's talk about this line first. Sally Hansen has been absolutely killin' it with their Insta-Dri collection. The line features their upgraded 3-in-1 formula with a built-in base and top coat for a shiny, chip-resistant mani that dries in a flash and doesn't require numerous coats (where has this been all my life?!). I'm obsessed with this collection and have five or six different shades already; this Buff and Tumble one being hands-down one of my favorites! While I prefer really bright clothes, my nails normally have to be relatively neutral as an actor. In almost every single commercial audition I go into, I'm asked to show the front and back of my hands. The person operating the camera will literally zoom in on my hands in the casting. It's that serious. This nude shade makes my nails look pretty and natural with minimal effort.
4. e.l.f.'s Eyebrow Enhancer.
I swear that I currently have at least five of these e.l.f. eyebrow pencils in my apartment at any one time. At only $2 a pop, you really can't beat them. If you're looking for those super sculpted brows that look like they belong at the MET, this pencil isn't exactly going to do the job. Pretty, natural brows though? This pencil is exactly what your brows have been dreaming of.
